Ctrl-Alt-Coffee

How often have you wished you could just reboot your day with a magical cup of coffee? These custom coffee mugs, shaped like a certain set of keys we use far too frequently on our keyboards, may not have such powers, but they are quite elegant, packaged with a matching circuit-board print serving tray. And until we have the technology to actually start our days over with our computers, we might as well enjoy a good cup of coffee whenever we can!

Tetris Gift Boxes

If you’ve been agonizing over the perfect packaging for your geeky holiday gifts, your search is over. This set of gift boxes shaped like Tetris pieces is sure to delight recipients as much as whatever you decide to fill them with, though some nice technology gifts would be obviously preferable to a lump of coal. But nothing too big–unless it’s shaped like a Tetris piece. I wonder if anyone has ever tried to bake a Tetris-shaped fruitcake…any kitchen-compatible geeks out there want to try?

Creepy Star Wars Hoodies

Sometimes, innocently weird geek fandom crosses the line into “just creepy.” These disturbing customized hooded sweatshirts from designer Marc Ecko are based on Star Wars characters (Darth Maul and Darth Vader pictured above), complete with zip-up mesh fronts that completely shield the wearer’s face. Sweatshirt or accessory to a crime? Sweatshirt or childhood nightmare fodder?

The designer offers some less scary “normal” jackets featuring the Star Wars robots and the bounty hunter Boba Fett, but unfortunately even the Force couldn’t prevent this foray into hideous mistakes of the apparel kind.

The Greenest Mouse Ever?

This “grass mouse,” by Japanese artist Hanaoka, is the perfect match for all the sustainable computers that have been popping up lately. If you want to promote your commitment to all things eco-friendly right out on your desktop, perhaps covering your mouse with grass is the solution…

The artist is known for covering everything from cars to USB accessories with grass, from what I can make of his website with my lack of Japanese skills. It would be easy to get carried away with that sort of thing–I wonder if his desk needs a lawnmower…

Star Wars USB Drives

Here at Geek Schwag, we’re huge fans of all things Star Wars, and these cute little USB drives are no exception. Available in Yoda, Boba Fett, Darth Vader, and Storm Trooper models, they keep up to 4GB of your data safe under their detachable heads. Just don’t plug them all into the same USB hub–you wouldn’t want to see these promotional computer accessories get into a fight…

Disposable Computers

The quest to build the ultimate eco-friendly computer is never-ending, but this recycled laptop looks like quite a contender. Designer Je Sung Park, noting the quick pace of technological evolution, recognized the need for a “disposable” computer–one that could be upgraded frequently without fear of serious environmental repercussions. This prototype’s outer shell is made of layers of corrugated recycled paper instead of metal and plastic, allowing parts to be replaced without discarding the entire casing. Best of all, its inexpensive construction materials mean it will actually be affordable to the general public, unlike other sustainable laptops (ASUS N51V, we’re looking at you).

The only problem is that it doesn’t exist yet. Meanwhile, it’s a good idea to pick up a matching computer bag to show it off.

World’s Sexiest Mouse

Dutch design firm Intelligent Design is promoting its “ID Mouse” as the embodiment of perfection in computer accessories. With its sleek titanium exterior, flawless Bluetooth wireless functionality, and totally unattainable price tag ($1200?!?!?!), it may well be. If you’re into techno-toys more expensive than your computer, at least.

Then again, next to this thing, all other mice sort of look like Mickey…
