Reddit is a popular social news aggregation site that has an active and loyal community. I just noticed these custom USB flash drives in the shape of the Reddit alien mascot, and being an avid user of the site myself, went to purchase one – until I realized they were $25! I’m all for supporting your favorite companies by buying their promotional merchandise, but I’m not willing to submit to this kind of highway robbery. I understand it probably cost them some money to get the custom design they were looking for, but let’s do a bit of market analysis BEFORE the promotion if that’s the case. I can’t picture many people, no matter how loyal, buying such overpriced USB drives.
