According to the auction the 250 lb. slab of glass was broken when someone dropped a bottle on it, and this guy happened to take it off of the repair crew’s hands before they trashed it.

Whatever happened to lusting after normal geek schwag like customized USB flash drives and good old-fashioned promotional computer accessories?

Reddit is a popular social news aggregation site that has an active and loyal community. I just noticed these custom USB flash drives in the shape of the Reddit alien mascot, and being an avid user of the site myself, went to purchase one - until I realized they were $25! I’m all for supporting your favorite companies by buying their promotional merchandise, but I’m not willing to submit to this kind of highway robbery. I understand it probably cost them some money to get the custom design they were looking for, but let’s do a bit of market analysis BEFORE the promotion if that’s the case. I can’t picture many people, no matter how loyal, buying such overpriced USB drives.

Maybe you have an eyeball fetish, or perhaps you’re just tired of seeing a lowercase “i” in front of every single portable electronic device on the planet. Anyway, this guy went ahead and did it, encasing his iPod nano in this insanely cool steampunk case (if you don’t want to plug in your headphones, the Victrola horn on the base really works as a speaker, too!). The real thing can only be visited at Oxford’s Museum of the History of Science, though - unfortunately, it’s not for sale.

Ever dream of actually being able to sneak into the Millennium Falcon and join the heroes of Star Wars on their mission? No? Well, what are you waiting for? Designer Kayla Kromer, who is probably fending off thousands of worshipful geek suitors at the moment, has recreated Han Solo’s spaceship from the film as a fully functional bed. An extra-functional bed, really - this one has working LED headlights, a map on the inside of the sheets, and even a miniature “cockpit” area that holds Star Wars toys.

While I don’t think we’ll be seeing any Star Wars bed and breakfasts any time soon, I’m sure there are a ton of people who would buy this bed, and some who might even admit to sleeping in it…
